I've never really done a foundation routine because I do change up my foundations quite a lot but I think I did a Face Makeup Routine a while back which I'll link it here for you, and that featured my all time favourite foundation which is the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation so check that out if you are interested.

But today I wanna show you a couple of new foundations that I have been enjoying recently. They both perform very differently and the strange thing about both of these foundations is that they don't work at all on me individually but together are flawless. I'm talking about the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation (Light) and the "Un" Cover-up (22) by RMS Beauty.

(I hope you can see that the Tarte foundation doesn't cover up anything. My redness is still there and so as my blemishes, thumbs down)

I have been wanting to try the Tarte one for the longest time unfortunately it is a disappointment. It makes me look 10 years older, it's just not the result I was hoping for. It is cakey, drying, it emphasises my dry patches and it is not full coverage at all, in fact it barely covers anything not even my redness let alone blemishes or pigmentation. I am so disappointed with this foundation, I mean I've tried it with different primers, different brushes it just doesn't work at all.

As for the RMS one. It feels so nourishing on my skin because of the coconut oil in it and it is organic so I was really excited to try. It has a double duty of foundation and concealer which is awesome. However, it looks greasy, feels sticky, and doesn't sink into the skin at all. It has no coverage whatsoever so definitely not for someone who likes foundations with good coverage nor for oily skin types.

(Very sheer, doesn't really cover up much at all)

(On camera it might look nice but in real life it looks very shiny and sits on top)

But I mixed these two together and OMG. It stayed on for the whole day and my skin looked flawless. Together they seem to provide the coverage I need which is about medium I'd say, they stay on my skin really well, doesn't get oily nor drying. Seriously if you have both of these but they don't seem to work for you try mixing them together.

(Full face makeup, but hopefully you can see that together they look natural and flawless)

That's it guys. Let me know if you have tried either of these and how you think of them. If you have any tips on how to use these individually please let me know because I can't get them to work but I do really enjoy using them together.

Perricone MD skincare is by all means effective and very famous in the beauty world but because of the high price tag I never bought or tried anything from his skincare range but as soon as this No Foundation Foundation Serum ($55) came out I knew I had to get my paws on it. I just thought it would be a great foundation to use during spring and summer.

As the weather gets warmer I really need a foundation that is light in texture with a good SPF protection that looks like skin plus I really want something that has good skincare ingredients that not only looks good but also treats my skin while I'm wearing it, and this little gem does exactly what I just said and more. Hear me out:

  • It is as light as a foundation could ever gets. I mean I literally cannot feel nothing on my face.
  • It is very liquidy but you do get a good light to slightly medium coverage which is exactly what I'm looking for in the summer. It's buildable as well but you won't get more than a medium coverage if that.
  • It protects the skin with a broad spectrum, non-chemical, mineral based SPF 30 while helping to correct skin under-tones.
  • It feels so good on the skin and looks flawless. It never gets cakey.
  • This foundation lasts very well throughout the day, and sets pretty quickly into a semi matte finish. Honestly I don't even need powder which is insane.
  • It has no scent which is great for sensitive skin.
  • It is formulated with anti-aging treatment benefits to improve the appearance of firmness, wrinkles and pores.

I'm falling head over heels with this little gem and I think I just found my HG foundation. It is for all skin types but I feel that combo to oily skin girls will really enjoy this foundation as it does dry to pretty matte I would say but I have normal to dry skin and I love it, just make sure to use a moisturiser or a hydrating primer beforehands so that your skin doesn't feel dry if you do suffer from dry skin.

(top: YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation in B30 which is my shade, and bottom: Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum)

(blended in... as you can see the YSL one is the perfect match for my skin-tone, but the Perricone one looks a lot darker on my hands)

The only down side is that there's only one shade which is designed for light to medium skin tones, but Dr. Perricone came out with a No Bronzer Bronzer which is to mix in with this foundation if you have deeper skin tones. Funny thing about this foundation is that it looks a lot darker on my hands as you can see above but somehow manages to match and even out my skin-tone on my face.

A little trick I discovered with this foundation is that do use your finger tips to apply as it just looks better with fingers and you don't end up using a lot of product with brushes or sponges. Use circular motion to massage it into the skin if you like a light coverage but if you prefer a bit more coverage then I suggest pat and press it onto the skin. One thing to remember is that do shake well before each use because of the unique weightless suspension technology so that it re-disperses minerals and pigments.

(with only this foundation on)

It says use 3 to 4 drops but I normal go for 6 maybe 7 just because I do have a lot of redness on my cheeks and I like to pat on a little more on those areas. Remember it is light in coverage so if you prefer full coverage foundations then this is not the one for you.

That's it guys, honestly I can't say enough good things about this foundation, seriously try it! I'm obsessed and haven't been able to put it down ever since I got it as it just looks like skin, so natural and healthy looking. And if I haven't said it enough I love it, love it, and love it!

Well hello hello, time for another review my beautiful friends... I finally get to try the famous BB Cushion Foundation by Laneige, I have heard so many beauty gurus talking about this stuff and honestly it does look pretty interesting so let's crack on with the review.
New Makeup New Look

If you don't know what BB cushion is, it is basically a compact foundation (I'd say in liquid form) that is soaked in a piece of sponge, and comes with a spongey puff that you supposed to dip and press on that piece of foundation sponge then dap and smooth the product over your skin.

Laneige is a Korean skincare and makeup brand which is fairly famous in Asia and a lot of Asian beauty gurus love this stuff, well I can see why because it is fabulous.

PROS:
  • light as air, texture-wise
  • easy to use
  • looks like second skin, literally
  • feels like you have nothing on, literally
  • leaves a healthy dewy glow
  • smells good
  • nice and compacted so easy for touchup on the go
  • protects the skin because of the high SPF which is 50+
  • covers really well, I'd say light to medium but buidable
  • hydrates the skin, it's like moisturiser and foundation in one
  • wears pretty nice throughout the day, doesn't oxidise, doesn't get too oily, but I do need to touchup with my powder
  • brightens up the complexion
  • the mirror inside is nice and big
  • comes with a refill which is really thoughtful
  • environmental friendly because you can keep the compact and just buy the refill
(Left: with natural light, Right: with artificial light. Looks so natural and glowy)

CONS:
  • limited shade range (only comes in 3 shades I think, light, medium and dark)
  • it will dry out if don't keep the lid on tight
  • have to wash the puff quite regularly if not it gets really dirty and gross
  • not available in Europe
  • the rather strong citrusy perfume scent might be too much to some
(Left: a tad too light compare to my neck, Right: with setting powder on top but still looks natural)

Honestly this is a beautiful foundation. I just love how light it is and still manage to even out my skintone. I have the shade in light, well it is a tad too light for me but I can even it out with my bronzer so it's all good. If you are someone who prefers high coverage foundation then this is not for you, but remember foundation is supposed to even out skintones not covers everything else on your face. Seriously this BB cushion is amazing!

Whoever invented this little puff that it comes with, is a genius. It picks up the right amount of product and applies so seamlessly. I think you can use a brush if you are not a fan of the puff, but remember use a soft, fluffy brush not dense brushes, my opinion.

(Comes with a refill and a sample of the water bank moisturiser)

Guys I am falling head over heels with this thing if you can't tell already. Unfortunately it is not available in EU (why why why?!!!) but if you live in America you can get it from target.com.

So have you tried it? @eflicciardello

I love powder foundations. They are just so quick n easy to use. I use them almost everyday because I am not a morning person to be honest and I "snooze" at least 3 times before I can get up.

Let's just cut to the chase shall we?!

First up Laura Geller Belance n Brighten, and I have the shade in Regular/Medium.

The shade is a tad too dark for me I need to pick up the Lighter one, but this is by far the best powder foundation I have ever tried. Seriously it is fabulous. It's finely milled, light on the skin, never cakey, and it does brighten the complexion.

The coverage is incredible, you can build it up to full converge, yes you heard me, full coverage. It cancels my redness like no other foundations. I love this stuff, sometimes I feel like this is better than ALL of my other foundations.

It's hand made in Italy and baked under Terracotta pan for 24 hours. It's infused with different colors to conrrect and balance the complexion. Try it guys! It is gorgeous.

Next up, Shiseido Sun Protective Compact Foundation SPF 30. I have the shade in 40 I think. I don't really remember but it's the lightest shade.

I know I know it's empty because I have finished it all up. I had taken out the pan and still waiting for my refill. That's one thing I like about this foundation, you only need to buy the compact once. We need to think about our environment right?!

It's light, not cakey. It can be built up to full coverage, and it has SPF 30. Perfect for summer. It controls oil pretty well. You can use a large powder brush to set your foundation or use it on its own with a buffing brush for more coverage. It's small and compacted, great for take it on the go.

Last but not least, Lepo Loose Mineral Powder in the shade 48. This is a recent purchase and I haven't been able to put it down since. It's light and very creamy for a powder. Lepo is an Italian brand but I think they do ship internationally.

Everyone needs some sort of mineral foundation in my opinion because it is so good for your skin and very quick and easy for everyday use. I use my buffing brush on days when I need more coverage but on a good skin day I just use a big soft powder brush for a light coverage. The more you buff the radiant your skin looks. It's a great mineral foundation.

There you have it the best powder foundations in my opinion. Leave me comments and Let me know if you have tried any of these and how they work for you. Or Tweet me

Until next time bye! Muahhhh
