Hello beauties, this is gonna be the last review of the Peter Thomas Roth Skinstant Mask Set, and it's about the ever-so-famous Cucumber Gel Mask. I know that a lot of you beauty junkies have already tried it and loved it, but I have some mixed opinions about this one and let me just be completely honest here with you all: I will not repurchase it.
New Makeup New Look

I actually bought the whole set because of this mask. As I said before I have heard so much about this mask and I just have to see what the fuss was all about, and the verdict: not worth the hype and the money! Surprisingly, the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask and the Rose Stem Cell one are the hits for me. I will definitely be repurchasing the Pumpkin one because it is just a good skin in a jar, probably not the Rose one but I do like it. Click the links above to see the full deets of these two if you are interested.

Back to the Cucumber Mask, this one is claimed as an "extreme detoxifying hydrator", and the gel helps to soothe, hydrate, and detoxify dry, irritated skin with botanical extracts of cucumber, papaya, chamomile, pineapple, sugar maple, sugarcane, orange, lemon, bilberry and aloe. Now that to me is a pretty big statement, and frankly I really don't know about all that. It does hydrate yes, but that's about it. It feels pretty refreshing and soothing, sinks in fast, by the time I get to my chin the product on my forehead is already absorbed so that's cool. I do like the fact that it is packed with all the fruit and veggie ingredients but do bear in mind that it has parabens in it, so if you are someone who is against that then this is definitely not for you.

This mask is apparently created for treating under eye puffiness as well, but I suggest you NEVER EVER put this stuff even near your eye contour areas because it will sting your eye balls out. OMG I put a thin layer under my eyes last week for, you know "reducing the puffiness" but it just burnt and stinged my eyes so bad (and I don't even have sensitive eyes) to the point that tears came out, my eyes were so red and I had to remove the mask immediately. I am not happy about this and I say no one should ever use this as an under eye mask. Just don't!

The good news is that you can sleep in with this mask if you put a thin layer on, although I wouldn't do it just because I don't like overnight masks because of the stickiness. I don't like to get it all over my pillow but if that is not an issue for you then be my guest.

Left: freshly applied   Right: all sinked in after seconds

So the verdict: not worth the hype, certainly not the money, and definitely not a repurchase for me. My John Masters Organic hydrating mask is way better, just FYI if you need a recommendation for a good hydrating mask.

That's it guys, that's my thoughts on the Cucumber Mask by Peter Thomas Roth. If you wanna know how I think of the other two masks in the set then click the links above. Let me know which one is your fav by commenting or tweeting/instagramming @eflicciardello. I actually bought the whole set because of the cucumber one but sadly it is the most disappointing one. Anyways let me know what you think of it cuz I certainly was not impressed.

Have a lovely day and see you soon! xoxo

Continue with my Peter Thomas Roth Mask Set, and today let's talk about the Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask. Hope you like it.

I think Peter himself likes to create gel textured masks because all 3 of them are gel based and they are all pretty lovely I gotta say. I'll link my review of the pumpkin mask here if you haven't seen it already.

This rose scented mask is basically an anti-aging mask that is infused with 4 different rose extracts and 5 rose stem cells in a cooling, rejuvenating gel to help stimulate skin's cell turnover for younger looking complexion.

If you like me and like rose scented products then this is for you. I can smell the rose in there distinctly, very natural though and not overly strong. It actually reminds me of gummy bear candy but rose flavoured if that exists. Is that weird? I really like the scent if you can't tell already!

I can't give you my words on the "anti-aging" part but it does makes my skin appear smoother which I'm pretty pleased. It also hydrates my skin and once the gel dries which takes only a minute by the way, it acts like a barrier on the skin so the moisture cannot escape and really stays in. I honestly have nothing else to say about this mask apart from it is hydrating, makes my skin soft to the touch, smoother and fresh looking so if you are after any of these things then I say give this a go.

Another thing I like about this mask is that it does feel cooling once it's on. It would be a great mask to use in the summer and even better if you leave it in the fridge. On a side note, I really enjoy the fact that it is pink, just feels very girly and pretty.

It can be purchased at cultbeauty as well as beautybay if you live in Europe or anywhere really, and Sephora if you are US based.

A little tip here for ya: leave this mask on for as long as you can, I just find it works better this way, at least for me. I think it can be used as an overnight mask as well because of the texture. This mask absorbs really quickly so don't forget to apply a generous amount on your skin because if you apply a thin layer it will be absorbed within a minute if that! It is suggested to use 2 or 3 times a week but I think you can use it as often as you need because it is so gentle, but again don't quote me because my skin is pretty normal most of the time and I don't get irritated easily with products.

That's it guys. Short and sweet this one. I haven't tried the cucumber one yet but once I do I will report back of course. Thank you so much for reading and see you in a couple of days! Muahh!

@eflicciardello

You guys all know how much I'm obsessed with the Glamglow Youthmud TingleExfoliate Treatment Mask. It is hands down the best exfoliating mask I've ever tried... But I think I just found something that is equally as good and effective, should I call it the "dupe" of the GlamGlow one? Because it basically does the same thing and costs pretty much the same but you get 5 times more product than you would with the GlamGlow. Intrigued? Hear me out!

There we go: Pumpkin Enzyme Mask by Peter Thomas Roth. I got it in a kit awhile back and it contains three of Peter's best selling masks. I was gonna do a blogpost on all three in once but I have a lot to say about each and every one of them so today is just gonna be about this one but reviews of the other 2 are coming up.

(This is the kit I got which contains 3 masks. Each of them has 50ml/1.7 fl oz of product. Unfortunately it is sold out as it is limited edition but you can purchase them separately and I just found out that Sephora now carried another of this set but in travel sizes so make sure to check it out  if you are interested.)

First of all, this stuff smells incredible, like cakes, just makes me wanna eat it. The colour of the actual product is like pumpkin colour but has a bit brown in it, like when pumpkins being left for a while. However, I don't feel like this has the pumpkin scent to be honest but that being said it is still delightful to use.

(It has a jelly kind of texture which is very interesting.)

What makes this product special is that it exfoliates your skin in 3 ways:
  • exfoliates with pumpkin enzyme
  • peels with alpha hydroxy acid
  • and polishes with aluminum oxide

This stuff in my opinion is very powerful as far as exfoliating goes, and that is why it is so effective in treating dull, ageing, and congested skin. It doesn't tingle like the Youthmud from GlamGlow but I can feel it is working. It's hard to describe the feeling but you can just tell it's doing its job.

It contains both chemical peel ingredients as well as the actual exfoliating beads, but the beads are super duper tiny and fine which doesn't irritate my skin at all. If you have been following my blog  for a while you'll know that I'm not a fan of beads exfoliators because they are just to harsh for someone like me with a sensitive skin, and that's why I was a little sceptical at the beginning. But it is without a doubt one of the best exfoliating masks I have ever tried, like the GlamGlow one, just makes my skin feeling not just soft, but baby's bum soft, even, and youthful.

2 things to note:
  1. if you are sensitive to enzymes or any kinds of acids I would recommend trying a little at the back of your ears first as I mentioned before this is a pretty powerful exfoliating mask, but if you are fine with the GlamGlow mask then I think you're be ok, but again it is always a good idea to test it before because everyone is different.
  2. please apply your sun screen before going out if you use this the night before because AHA may increase skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn.
(The little white dots are the actual beads. See how tiny they are!)

It is recommended to use 1 or 2 times a week. Apply a thin layer on the skin but remember to avoid the eye area, then wet your finger tips and gently massage in a circular motion to exfoliate. Leave it on for about 3-7 minutes then rinse off. Remember it is very important that you do not leave this on  for over 10 minutes because it might be too much for your skin especially for the first time.

That's it, that's everything I have to say. Seriously guys, try it if you like the GlamGlow Youthmud mask, I think you'll really enjoy this one too but with a cheaper price. This mask can be purchased at Sephora USA, unfortunately I cannot find this mask at cultbeauty nor beautybay despite the fact that they both carry Peter Thomas Roth products. I have no idea why...

Thank you beauties! xoxo
